Power Beyond Measure stems from a 2013 convening of funders affi liated with the Executives’ Alliance for Boys and Men of Color. Over the years, this group evolved and eventually engaged Equivolve Consulting to 1) explore current research, evaluation, data, and policy-related efforts underway; and 2) to identify issues and priorities that, if addressed through research and evaluation, could help to advance solutions for BMOC. Between Fall 2019 and Spring 2020, Equivolve conducted a survey and stakeholder interviews with leaders and practitioners serving BMOC to begin to address those questions.
Power Beyond Measure: Reshaping the Research and Evaluation Landscape for Boys and Men of Color lays out six strategies and supporting actions that researchers, evaluators, and funders can take to advance equity for boys and men of color (BMOC). Adopting the strategies and actions outlined in Power Beyond Measure will help researchers and evaluators in a variety of organizations and institutions, as well as funders in public and private philanthropic settings, challenge dominant paradigms in the field and better support thriving lives and communities with and for BMOC.
